The French quite sensibly write this month off, but August will be very busy for us here at Andrew Harper. This month's Hideaway Report Online focusing on China and Mallorca features five videos, a new personal record for your humble cinematographer, and much of this summer has been spent fully revising the United States sections of the Harper Collection. I am also happy to present a new feature, "Footsteps Itineraries," which should make it much easier for you to undertake my Hideaway Report travels.

The United States sections of the Harper Collection have been exhaustively revised and updated. Highlights include:

- Phone/address/website updates
- Scheduled or recent renovations and closures
- New and updated restaurant information
- Enhanced maps with all recommended hotels clearly listed
- A new San Francisco map

China is a vast country, slightly larger than the Lower 48, so any such itinerary is going to be little more than a snapshot. However, the number of places that provide accommodations of a Harper standard is limited, so a "greatest hits" itinerary is partly a necessity.
