The Hideaway Report, which began as a small newsletter for friends and family, is now one of the most distinct voices in luxury travel. Impatient with pretension and skeptical of passing trends, Andrew Harper has an abiding passion for classic hospitality and refined service amid peaceful surroundings. He is on the road for several months each year, and hotels are his second home.

key “ROISSY-CHARLES DE GAULLE The opening of another new terminal, 2G, has done little to facilitate connections at this notoriously inconvenient airport. Travelers to popular destinations such as Florence, Verona and Bilbao should be aware that 2G is nearly 15 minutes by bus from the other terminals, a remote location that also adds 15 minutes to a taxi ride from central Paris. It is extremely easy to miss a flight. When flying from the States and connecting to a smaller European city, Amsterdam’s Schiphol is a much better bet.”
