Silversea Silver Spirit
Although many itineraries are sold out, it’s not too late to plan a romantic Mediterranean cruise for this summer or fall. Silversea, for example, has arranged some very tempting packages on five cruises aboard the Silver Spirit, the newest vessel in its fleet.
Fares start at $6,299 per person, which includes business class air tickets. In addition, travelers receive all transfers, one pre-cruise night in a five-star hotel with breakfast, and a tour in the embarkation city. After departure, many of the shore excursions in each port are also complimentary. It’s a rather remarkable offer, considering the price of business class tickets alone.
This package, called “Shore Amore,” is available on the following cruises:
Barcelona to Venice (July 22-August 3)
– One night at Hotel Casa Fuster with breakfast and transfers.
– One two-hour walking tour of the Gothic Quarter, followed by tapas in a local restaurant.
Venice to Istanbul (August 2-13)
– One night at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal (or similar) with breakfast and transfers.
– One 30-minute gondola ride.
Istanbul to Athens (August 12-20)
– One night at the Ceylan InterContinental (or similar) with breakfast and transfers.
– A cruise of the Bosphorus followed by a coach tour of Istanbul, which ends at the ship.
Athens to Venice (August 19-27)
– One night at the Hotel Grande Bretagne with breakfast and transfers.
– A dinner with views of the Acropolis.
Venice to Monte Carlo (August 26-September 3)
– One night at the Hotel Monaco & Grand Canal (or similar) with breakfast and transfers.
– One 30-minute gondola ride.
