Loved this hotel! A completely charming Venetian property filled with history located on the Grand Canal across from the Rialto Market and near the Rialto Bridge. St Marks Square is approximately a 10 to 15 minute walk through winding walkways. A great way to get to know Venice!
Ca Sagredo is another great hotel. The building itself is incredible. The artwork on the second floor is stunning. It is a real treat to stay in a hotel with such beautiful artwork. All the glass fixtures in the hotel (sconces, chandelliers, ...etc.) are made at the same factory in Murano and have a unique and beautiful quality about them. Our room was a Grand Canal Double Prestige. It was small yet comfortable, but the view was outrageous. We left the New Year's Eve celebration in Piazza San Marco due to the acqua alta and returned to the room to watch the fireworks from our window. It was spectacular. We also joined a complimentary tour of the Rialto market guided by the hotel's chef. That was a great way to learn about the market and to get an idea of the freshness and quality of the food used by the hotel's restaurant. The hotel's staff was great and they were able to get us into a tour group of the Palazzo Ducale that had been booked for weeks in advance.I would go back in a heartbeat.
Concur completely. We had a great stay there last year and would stay there again. We had to leave early before the breakfast service begin, and the staff created a special serving for us in the restaurant.
