Dramatically situated villa-like hideaway overlooking scenic Lake Atitlán and towering volcanoes, three hours west of Guatemala City. Nine stylish lodgings (no TVs) are decorated with Guatemalan artifacts, brightly colored textiles and heavy hardwood furniture, the well-appointed baths accented by handpainted murals and tiles. Mayan rugs/blankets and striking artwork accent the stylish lounge in the main house, while a superb dining room flows out to a hillside terrace with breathtaking views of the lake. Lap pool, small exercise room and nearby dock for swimming and kayaking; also guided mountain hikes and boat excursions to lakeside villages. No children under age 15.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel on Lake Atitlan. One night, we were the only guests, making it really feel like our own private villa! The views over the lake from our balcony and the main terrace were really magical - the sunsets with the volcanoes and the lake were unforgettable. The staff couldn't have been nicer - they took excellent care of us, and gave us very good sightseeing recommendations. I would love to go back! Both the hotel and Lake Atitlan are very special.
