Visually striking boutique hotel in vibrant SoHo. The interior combines modern design with comfortable furniture, print wallpaper and plush, colorful fabrics. The 86 bright accommodations sport 40 looks, but all feature enormous full-length windows; for an expansive cityscape, book on the fifth floor or above. Rooms also have large desks, inlaid chests, beds with fabric headboards, and full technology. Baths clad in polished gray-and- black granite provide double vanities and large walk-in showers. Public areas include The Drawing Room, with fireplace and deep sofas, and The Crosby Bar and Terrace, with oak floors, striped banquettes and a pewter-topped counter; both have garden views. The staff is genuinely friendly and solicitous.
Deluxe Room, from $695; Junior Suite, from $875.

Harper Member Critique - Crosby Street Hotel, New York
Travel Date: Feb 2010
"We travel extensively and regularly consult Andrew Harper for information on hotels. Regretfully we did not find the Crosby Street Hotel up to your usual standards. It was disappointing as to accommodations, facilities and dining (we dined used twice in the restaurant and twice in the room service). So please accept our compliments and thanks for providing the best advice on high level sophisticated accommodations around the world and take our disappointing experience at Crosby Street in that context."
