I am planning a Thanksgiving week visit. I always feel one can't go wrong at a Four Seasons." I noticed some negative posts about the condition of the hotel and how it has skipped from being one of the best. However the comments (which were at least a few) were posted in 2008. I believe the hotel has been renovated since then. I notice that many room types still have the shower/bath combo. Compared to the Peninsula or he Trump, how does the Four Seasons fare at the present? Did their "renovation" (or redecoration) restore the Four Seasons hotel? Excellent service and everything in sparkling condition are my two priorities. It's really critical that I not blow this one: I need to choose a "home run." I hate to give up the FS service, but if it's glory years are over and better service and rooms are to be had elsewhere please let me know. Thanks for all answers!

Dear Zaremsam, The Four Seasons has indeed been renovated since 2008, and the results are quite impressive - the rooms feel very fresh and stylish. Superior and Deluxe Rooms feature shower/tub combinations, but any higher categories have separate showers and tubs. The Peninsula and the Elysian are also lovely properties, of course. We have a number of travel consultants in the office who have stayed at these hotels themselves, and they would be happy to give you an update on the various advantages of the properties and assist with reservations. All these hotels offer an array of special benefits to Harper members. To reach a consultant familiar with these hotels, you can call the Travel Office at (800) 375-4685 or (630) 734-4610, or e-mail us at reservations@andrewharper.com. Best Regards, The Travel Office

We have stayed here many times lately and in fact are there now - and it has indeed been renovated. I don't think you can go wrong with this hotel. The staff are wonderful and try very hard to please. The dining room is excellent and location with view of the lake and/or city could not be better. Robin

We have stayed at the Four Seasons for two months, (on a monthly basis) and have found the staff to be friendly, cheerful, and yes, always remember our names. It is a much more relaxed atmosphere than the Pen, where we have also stayed, and I agree it is like "coming home". One caveat is that they have the worst TV schedule, reception etc of any five stay hotel we have stayed in. They know it and it is evidently something they (staff etc) cannot do anything about as it has been up to this particular hotel owner, who coincidentally also owns the TV company.

Harper Member Critique: Four Seasons Chicago
"We continue to be extremely pleased with our stays at the Four Seasons Chicago. Our suite had recently been renovated with quite positive results. The staff calls us by name and is very kid-friendly and service-oriented. Our six year old thoroughly enjoys her visits." - JL

The suites have been refurbished quite elegantly.  The staff always welcome their guests by name and one immediately has the feeling of "coming home". The views from the accommodations are magnificent and the Sunday brunch is definitely one of the best in town!  Always an enjoyable visit!
