Grand resort-hotel amid lush gardens at the tip of Giudecca Island, five minutes by private launch from St. Mark’s Square. The 79 accommodations offer garden, pool or lagoon views; some have private balconies or terraces and marble baths with double vanities and separate tubs and showers. Junior Suites with views of the lagoon are particularly recommended. Sixteen luxury suites are in the adjacent 15th-century Palazzo Vendramin. Dining and bar venues include an elegant terraced restaurant and Cip’s Club with its spectacular view of St. Mark’s Square, an informal alfresco poolside restaurant and the recently reopened Gabbiano Bar. The hotel has Venice’s only Olympic-size swimming pool, a stylish spa/health club and a tennis court.

At the Cipriani--a literal island oasis that allows you to enjoy Venice and then escape to paradise. We had a junior suite overlooking the pool with a terrace the size of a New York hotel room! June 2011
