Tranquil manor house-resort blending into a picturesque hillside above the coastline of the Argentario Peninsula, two hours from Siena and Rome. Fifty spacious accommodations (be sure to request a seaside room, as garden categories can be disappointing) are housed in a vine-draped villa and cottages. Two-star restaurant, plus flower-filled dining/cocktail patio and piano bar overlook the sea. Heated clifftop saltwater pool, full-service spa, fitness facilities, rocky beach, waterskiing, sailing, mountain biking, horseback riding, tennis court and cooking classes, plus nearby golf and Etruscan/Roman sites. Closed late October to late April. No children under age 10.

Great R&R, but only for 2-3 days as you can burn out on it. Local towns not that great, so recommend meal plans as you will most often eat there. Hire the hotel boat - great way to see the peninsula. Staff was wonderful, food outstanding. Send clients to the Osteria Dei Nobili Santi in Porto Ercole if they want to leave the property. Outstanding local spot. Beautiful grounds and landscaping

Just returned from a wonderful trip to this special property. We had a beautiful sea view room. Staff was very gracious, the food was outstanding. Very close to Rome (less than 2 hours) and not far from the major Tuscan cities either. The coastline is very rugged and quite beautiful. A couple of suggestions - get the meal plan, as the neighboring towns are not terribly picturesque so better to stay on the property; I would probably stay no longer than 3 nights or so unless you need some serious R&R; and I would take an excursion on the water by hotel boat as it is a nice way to see the peninsula. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
