Kachemak Bay Wilderness Lodge

Wilderness retreat along an unspoiled cove on the Kenai Peninsula, reached via boat from the fishing village of Homer in China Poot Bay. Owned by knowledgeable naturalists Mike and Diane McBride, the central lodge contains a lounge with fireplace, open kitchen and countrified dining room (seafood a specialty). Five cozy cabins come with colorful homemade quilts, woodstoves and private tile/cedar shower-baths; for maximum privacy request Cliff House, accessed via a wooden footbridge.
