Elegant, private and personalized 117-room hotel on quiet residential street within walking distance of Rodeo Drive. The 625-square-foot superior rooms are bright, expansive and instantly relaxing. LIVELLO serves Asian-Italian fusion cuisine in a warmly lit oval space looking onto a bougainvillea-strewn terrace. Rooftop pool, spa treatment rooms and small fitness center. A smart, centrally located spot of solace in Beverly Hills.

We found this property disappointing and would recommend the Peninsula or the Beverly Hills Hotel as better options for sophisticated travelers. The rooms are expansive but very sparsely decorated, with poor attention to details in terms of lighting and power outlets. The plumbing fixtures are very poor quality and in our room the glass door on the shower stall opened inwards solidly smacking the shower head with a arm jarring shudder. We eventually managed to swing the door outward, but then once inside the shower stall there was nothing with which to pull it closed! The public spaces looked worn and tatty. The look of the hotel, which is at first quite striking, is created with thin veneer grates stuck onto the walls. Looking beyond this detail the construction details are cheap and poorly executed, especially the ducting for air-conditioning vents. Our bathroom was not clean, and the shampoo and conditioner tubes were almost empty. Service was excellent, the rotunda breakfast room is charming, and the food was delicious. All things considered, we were surprised that this property receives a stamp of approval from Andrew Harper.
