Tropical retreat occupying lush, five-acre Little Torch Key (reached via launch from a shore station at Mile Marker 28.5), a half-hour north of Key West. Thirty accommodations in thatched bungalow suites feature vaulted ceilings, whirlpool baths, indoor/outdoor showers and verandas (though no in-room TVs or phones). A fine restaurant is complemented by a freshwater lagoon pool with a palapa bar. The resort offers a spa, small beach, snorkeling/scuba excursions and sailing/fishing charters. A favorite of honeymooners. Not recommended for long stays because of its confining size. No children under age 16.
Island Escape Suite, from $1,190; Island Elegance Suite, from $1,490 (meal plan available).
Rates include staff gratuities, motor yacht transfers, a welcome cocktail, non-alcoholic minibar beverages, watersport amenities, fitness center access and valet parking.

Harper Member Critique -- Little Palm Island, Little Torch Key, FL
Travel Date: Dec 2009
"This was our fourth trip to LPI. The people and service was perfect as usual. Any request was honored. There was no delay ever in any of the service. The transportation is spot on within minute of the claimed time. The facilities have been upgrade with new furniture in the room and new developed little nooks on the island. The only problem is there has been a significant decline in the food. There is much less of a selection and at ever meal there was something that was inedible. We were very surprised by this as the 4/5 star quality of the meals is something that has drawn us to this island. There are very few island destinations with gourmet meals. This is the combination that draws us to LPI rather than other resorts. Since there is no other choice of food it will make us seriously consider other places." RC
My husband and I just spent 4 days at LPI, (mid March, 2010), on our boat at their dock. We couldn't disagree more with the previous critique regarding the food. Every meal we had was wonderful, with outstanding quality and presentation, from the poolside lunches to dinner on the beach. Particularly fabulous was their Saturday Brunch. The staff was delightful; well trained, professional, and friendly.
Dear Anneemarr,
That's great to hear! Thank you for taking the time to write about your experiences.
Best Regards,
