It has been decided (by us at least) that the Pen in Chicago is the best hotel in the States. Another great visit, wonderful food at Shanghai Terrace etc (and they didn't even scowl at some of the awful causual clothing people wore there) and great service. It is the best (IMO!)

"It was flawless. It was a very, very great stay in the Chicago area. We (all!) enjoyed the Science and Industry Museum, and then checked in at 2:30 -- our room was ready. The front desk clerk escorted us to our room -- very large -- and perfect for the 5 of us. It had snacks in the room which we all loved as we skipped lunch to enjoy the museum. We spent about 3 hours at the pool, relaxing, ordering room service, enjoying wine, hot-tubbing it -- a perfect end to the day. With the two bathrooms in our room, we were all set. The bed was comfy; we got (more) wine with our $50 credit at Avenues as it was too fancy to take our 9,8, and 6 year olds. The hotel offered to bring up a dressed up bear with more sweets, but we thought our kids had had enough. In our room were bathrobes for the kids, and stuffed bears for the kids. In the morning, we ordered more room service -- delivered on time -- they had a kids section to room service which we always appreciate -- and check out was a snap with bill correct, bell services right there when we asked, and perfect directions to get gas in our rental car on the way to the airport. Again -- perfect service." JP
