Sophisticated boutique resort set on the tranquil northern slope of Camelback Mountain, midway between Phoenix and Scottsdale. Formerly John Gardiner’s Tennis Ranch, the property has been transformed into a distinctive contemporary retreat centered on a huge infinity-edge pool and chic spa featuring a 25-yard tented outdoor lap pool and an array of Asian-inspired treatments. Many of the 105 lodgings have marvelous views of the desert valley landscape. The fine restaurant is complemented by a picturesque indoor/outdoor bar. Fitness center, tennis courts and nearby golf.

Disappointing. Physical plant is in need of major renovation. Dining room shabby - particularly when seated in back corner next to screen wait staff use. Place not clean. Bar not very appealing from decor or seating standpoints. Noise from adjoining room annoying and not acceptable for this level resort.
However, spa was very nice and pool enjoyable, and the entire staff friendly and efficient.
