Exceptionally elegant and gracious boutique hotel on six acres of manicured grounds in the desirable residential suburb of Sandhurst, 45 minutes from Johannesburg airport. Formerly a private mansion, this was where Nelson Mandela wrote his best-selling autobiography. Highlighted by a stunning lobby framed by two sweeping staircases, the award-winning interior features stylish contemporary African décor with many fine ethnic artifacts. The 24 lavish and supremely comfortable suites in the main building sport a restful palette of tan, yellow and ebony, and offer every modern amenity. Three new villas provide an additional 29 suites. Marble baths contain twin vanities, soaking tubs and walk-in showers. The atmospheric restaurant serves modern European cuisine; also piano lounge, bar, intimate spa offering comprehensive treatment menu, and fitness center. Outside is an extraordinary 10,000-square-foot heated horizon pool.

Standard Inclusions:

Rates include taxes, daily buffet breakfast served at the restaurant or in suite, a welcome bottle of sparkling wine, in-suite minibar (soft drinks, waters and selected beers), use of in-suite laptop, Wi-Fi and valet parking. When booking a Platinum or Presidential Suite, rates also include return airport transfers, V.I.P. guest handling on arrival with French Champagne and in-suite check-in.
