New hotel on the National Historic Landmark site of an early 20th-century meatpacking and refrigeration plant, in thriving Puerto Natales. Cleverly using the viable structures — most notably a huge brick warehouse — the hotel also saved much of the industrial equipment. Fifty-seven guest quarters were added in a historically appropriate style. Their most striking feature is 18-foot-wide glass walls with compelling views of the sea and distant snowy peaks. Decorated in shades of gray, the eminently comfortable lodgings are appointed with traditional furniture; large dressing rooms lead to equally spacious baths with separate showers and freestanding tubs. Atmospheric restaurant, bar and lounge are dramatically situated on two levels in the converted warehouse; exceptional food employs splendid Chilean produce. Impressive variety of excursions with well-trained and informative guides.

While sifting through websites, I skipped over the Singular initially. The idea of staying in a renovated meatpacking plant didn't appeal to me at all. However, our travel agent at Andrew Harper Travel strongly encouraged us to spend a few nights at the Singular and we are so thankful that we trusted her advice! The hotel truly is spectacular! Part museum, part luxury hotel, Singular manages to strike a perfect balance. It is really fascinating how they have so artfully preserved machinery and equipment from the early days and yet managed to weave a luxury hotel in the midst of it. When we first pulled up to the property, we were worried. It looked like an odd assortment of ruins on the outside. However, from the moment the outstanding staff warmly greeted us and led us inside, we were captivated by the charm of the place. The rooms are divinely comfortable and the floor to ceiling windows capture the mesmerizing view of the water perfectly. The bar and dining area is truly stunning - an eclectic mix of warm wood furnishings, a huge fireplace, glass, brass, amazing light fixture and artifacts - all put together in a way that is at once light and airy and cozy and inviting. It is really a very sophisticated and polished hotel, both in its decor and in its food and service. We were extremely impressed with our outstanding server Enrique. Even the food provided on the hikes was delicious and it was prepared so thoughtfully - a pouch containing a multitude of little bags with various treats and several sandwiches - all packaged so beautifully.

Singular Patagonia was perfect in every way.  Although it's located outside of the park, as compared to Tierra Patagonia which is right in the park, it is wonderfully unique, supremely comfortable and luxurious and the food and service were outstanding.  It's a fascinating place in that it's part museum, part hotel.  The food was fabulous and the service was very polished.
