Ideally located 105-room hotel in three structures surrounding a 17th-century courtyard next to Green Park. Rooms in the Main House retain a residential feel, with Edwardian-style décor, period pieces and marble baths. Twelve Carriage House lodgings within a converted 350-year- old stable building feature original timber beams and traditional décor. In the Stafford Mews across the cobbled courtyard, 26 Junior and Master suites contain a mix of antique and modern furniture with understated wallpaper and fabrics, ample closets and spacious marble baths with soaking tubs and walk-in showers. The property’s convivial ambience is exemplified by the celebrated American Bar; exceptional concierge. The Stafford Mews contains a fitness suite with the latest cardiovascular equipment.

We stayed in the mews at this hotel in September for 5 nights. We liked the convenience of being at ground level and walking directly out to into Green Park and St James. Having said that, the mews is somewhat noisy (especially early in the morning when the hotel accepts deliveries) and slightly tattered (but more than in a charming country house way). Our room has a water stain on the wallpaper and the bathroom was completely out of date. Otherwise great location and excellent service.

The Stafford in London was great. An ideal location, wonderful service and a very comfortable room. We stayed in a Main House Master Suite this time but next time we may do a smaller Junior Suite as the living area, while nice, was not one that we wanted to hang out in. The shows, restaurants, tour guide services and everything arranged through the Stafford concierge were consistently excellent.
