Vamizi Island Lodge

Community-minded eco-resort set on an eight-mile-long coral island at the northern end of the Quirimbas Archipelago. Local materials were used for the huge pavilion and 13 thatched villas built on low stilts. The spacious villas have beautifully carved wooden shutters, ceiling fans, mosquito-netted king beds, open-plan baths with twin gray marble basins and marble-lined walk-in showers; open-air lounges are furnished with rattan chairs and sofas. Open-air dining room; also water’s edge sunset bar and beach dining. Activities include deep-sea fishing, scuba diving, sailing, guided walks, bird-watching and day trips to neighboring islands.
