Intimate 10-room country house hotel in painstakingly restored Renaissance villa overlooking the vineyards, olive trees and forested hills of Chianti near the town of Greve, halfway between Florence and Siena. Stylish lodgings include features such as wood-beamed ceilings, king beds, fine antiques and Italian linens, as well as artfully concealed modern amenities. Colorful baths feature antique-tile floors and either separate tubs and showers or oversize showers with hydromassage jets and bench seats. Restaurant’s two rooms open onto Italian garden; cooking school available. Also, outdoor pool (unheated) among the olive groves, and an open-air fitness pavilion. Mountain bikes provided; wine tours and tastings can be arranged at local Chianti Classico estates. A fine base from which to explore.

We just returned from our third stay at Villa Bordoni, and it was better than ever. The owners Catherine and David Gardner are so welcoming and made us feel like family. The food was better than ever and the wine list is exceptional . David ran our cooking class , which was great fun and made us appreciate Italian food even more. We would highly reccommend .

The Villa Bordoni was one of the very best hotel experiences that we have ever had. Pity that they do not feel able to sign-up with AH.

I have not yet had the opportunity to stay here yet, but I toured the property and had lunch there last week as we are considering it for our wedding next year.
No question it's a lovely property and they've restored it with great attention to detail, but what really stood out to me was the service. They were incredibly welcomingly and helpful, from the owner, David, to Hugo, who took care of us at lunch, to the woman who gave us our tour (whose name, I am embarrassed to say, I forgot). It really came across that they loved the property and loved to share it with their guests. I left certain that they would take excellent care of my friends and family. Also, lunch was exquisite!
