Scenically, the spice island of Grenada is one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean. Its capital, St. George’s, is one of the region’s most picturesque. And despite the volcanic mountains and luxuriant vegetation, the white-sand beaches resemble those of a coral atoll. All of which makes it surprising that Grenada has few, if any, upscale resorts of note. This may be set to change with the debut of Silversands, a lavish 43-suite property aimed, according to its owner, at a St. Barths demographic.

The contemporary resort has been designed by Paris-based architects AW², whose previous projects have included Six Senses Con Dao in Vietnam and Amanjena in Marrakech (both Andrew Harper recommended). Facilities will include a 300-foot-long swimming pool. In addition to the resort, nine three- and four-bedroom villas will be available for purchase at prices ranging from $5 million to $11 million.
