Our Review of Abu Camp:
Distinctive camp known as the preeminent place to ride African elephants, set on a 450,000- acre private concession in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Overlooking a tranquil lagoon and shaded by hardwood trees, the six elegant and individually decorated accommodations are idiosyncratic structures that are part tent, part cabin. Splendid baths provide walk-in showers and twin basins; glass doors open onto decks with soaking tubs; also attractive sundecks. Lavish contemporary African public areas include a library and an adjoining communications center; secluded swimming pool. Exceptional cuisine. Large game species are common; the birdlife is prolific; and guests may ride on, or walk with, the camp’s trained herd of elephant.
