Our Review of Awasi Atacama:
Enchanting little sanctuary screened by rustic wood gates and offering superb hospitality, just outside the center of San Pedro de Atacama. Modeled after the traditional architecture of Tulor, a local Indian site dating from 800 B.C., the heart of the property is a large circular area defined by sienna-hued adobe walls inset with rows of local stones. There, inviting deck chairs flank a small pool. Thatched roofs supported by tree trunks cover a bar, open-air dining area and multiple sitting alcoves. The eight rooms and two new 750-square-foot suites have adobe walls, dark wood floors and private patios, and are enhanced by dramatic lighting. Each room has its own dedicated guide, driver and 4WD vehicle; extensive list of activities. Exceptionally good food.
