Duisdale House Hotel
From Andrew Harper:
Hospitable 18-room country hotel in a Victorian stone mansion originally built in 1865 as a hunting lodge perched on a hill with a commanding view of the Sound of Sleat. Contemporary décor is nicely balanced with fine old building. All guest accommodations are individually decorated; two romantic four-poster rooms overlook the sea to the Highlands. The Chart Room bar is a casual, snug spot for drinks and a light fare menu; also elegant dining room for fine Scottish cuisine. Public areas include a lounge with open fireplace for afternoon tea. Garden hot tub, horseback riding, hiking, biking and kayaking; sailing trips on hotel’s private yacht can be arranged.
