From Andrew Harper:
Off a rambling country lane 10 minutes from the charming town of Kennebunkport, you will find the delightful enclave of Hidden Pond, with 36 lodgings nestled into 60 acres of seaside forest. Sixteen cottages are arrayed around the Adirondack-style main lodge and have screened porches with daybeds, gas fireplaces, full baths with each bedroom and full kitchens; they are ideal for families. Twenty bungalows are cozy one-story structures with stone gas fireplaces, vaulted ceilings, marble baths and outdoor showers; with their proximity to the restaurant, treetop spa, a second pool and fitness center, the bungalows are more suitable for couples. Earth restaurant features a locally sourced menu that primarily uses ingredients from the hotel’s organic farm. Outdoor activities include paddleboarding, kayaking and nature walks. Closed November through April for the off-season.- Andrew Harper
