Our Review of The Lowell:
The refined Lowell hotel with a serene residential atmosphere is set along a tree-lined street between Madison and Park avenues close to many notable museums, galleries and shops. The 27 rooms are a little on the snug side (400 square feet), but the 47 suites are among the finest in the city. Suites have living rooms and Italian marble baths with deep soaking tubs and stall showers; many offer woodburning fireplaces, private terraces and kitchens. Recently refurbished lobby with library space; Majorelle, a Mediterranean-inspired French restaurant overseen by Charles Masson and Christian Delouvrier, and new garden terraces. The renovated Pembroke Room, ideal for brunch, afternoon tea and pre-theater dinner, features French doors and a brighter, more contemporary feel. The Lowell has a small but well-equipped gym. Attentive service complements a peerless location.
