Our Review of Marlfield House:
Regency manor house amid 35 acres of gardens and woodlands, 90 minutes south of Dublin. Nineteen individually appointed guest quarters include six gorgeously decorated Junior State Rooms with fireplaces and large marble baths; State Rooms “Georgian,” “Stopford” and “Morland” are particularly recommended. The foyer is dominated by a sweeping staircase and double Waterford crystal chandelier. The drawing room and stylish bar are adorned with Oriental rugs, old paintings and period furniture, while guests enjoy gourmet dining in a Victorian conservatory overlooking the gardens. New terrace café, The Duck, serves Italian-inspired contemporary fare. Walking trails, croquet lawn and tennis courts on the estate grounds; golf, fox hunting, fishing and riding nearby.
