Our Review of Wheatleigh:
Wheatleigh is an exquisitely restored 19th-century Italianate palazzo amid 22 acres of parkland designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, a short walk from Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Among the 19 lodgings, the five Junior Suites on the second floor offer baths with soaking tubs and separate showers, and balconies with views of the serene and wooded landscape. Contemporary and traditional furnishings, modern art and objets d’art from around the world accent the Great Hall and lounge. Dining options include chef Jeffrey Thompson’s award-winning restaurant, which expands to a glass-enclosed porch. The Library provides a more casual alternative. Amenities at Wheatleigh include a heated outdoor pool, massage room, tennis court and gym. Children and pets welcome.
