Senior Python/Django & Javascript Software Developer

Andrew Harper is looking for a Senior Software Developer to help develop and support AndrewHarper.com and our internal system. This is a key role and the right person must want to work and thrive in a start-up.

The position will be full-time contract to hire in our Medical Parkway office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create new functionality on the AndrewHarper.com website, internal CMS, fulfillment and marketing automation systems
  • Fix bugs and issues that arise within an on call rotation.
  • Work with fellow non-technical team members to find solutions and fix broken stuff.
  • Stay focused on working toward goals while maintaining the day to day.
  • Instigate, plan and execute on changes that make us a top shelf devops organization.

Must have skills & Experiences:

  • Be cool under pressure.
  • Know how to prioritize technical work when there's too much to get done.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with advanced Python, Django, client side Javascript, PGsql, and writing moderately complex SQL queries
  • Experience setting up and working in a continuous integration and continuous deployment environment. Fully owning the environment is not required. However, you must understand how to configure and work within it. We use Fabric.
  • Aptitude and desire to work in a fast paced start-up
  • Self starter - Determine what you must learn and dive in.
  • Outcome oriented thinker. If you only want to pull tickets off the pile, this role isn't for you.
  • Willingness and tendency toward cross-team communication that moves us forward. Can you communicate with a non-technical team member about an issue without having them glaze over every time?
  • Experience succeeding and failing with and an understanding of micro-services, REST API development, SaaS Architecture.
  • Linux (Ubuntu) system administration.
  • Solid understanding of server troubleshooting, tuning, installation.
  • Given root access, can you find the issue and fix it?
  • Some understanding of networking.
  • Ability and desire to integrate various technologies to arrive at the right solution.
  • Desire to work with an experienced startup leadership team that will challenge you and inspire growth.

Content Designer

Andrew Harper is looking for a Content Designer to help create articles, digital marketing assets and code for AndrewHarper.com. The right person is a capable designer who loves travel content and has experience with coding HTML/CSS. The position will be full-time salaried and includes both health and travel benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Style copy and place images for web editorial content via our CMS
  • Produce design assets around content for social, email and PR channels
  • Assist in coding and updating of marketing emails in both Mailchimp and Hubspot
  • Commit code to Github to update copy and styles on our website
  • Create graphics and logos for various comapny intiatives
  • Update team on progress via Podio project management system

Desired Skills & Experiences:

  • Skilled with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML & CSS
  • Experience with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal
  • Experience using email marketing systems such as Mailchimp or Hubspot
  • Understanding of web analytics, including A/B testing and Google Analytics
  • Curiousity around design performance and a desire to expand your technical skillset
  • Indesign, Premeire Pro, Github and writing experience all a plus

Content Design Intern

Andrew Harper is looking for a Content Design Intern to assist with the creation of articles on AndrewHarper.com. Position will be 20hrs a week on a regular schedule. We are flexible with which days of the week you are availabe and can work around school or other commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resizing, crediting and place images in web stories
  • Transfer content between web and print editorial systems
  • Add basic HTML formatting to web stories through the Andrew Harper CMS
  • Assist Photo Editor in keeping hotel images up to date
  • Update team on progress via project management system

Desired Skills & Experiences:

  • Adept with Adobe Photoshop
  • Experience with content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal
  • Basic HTML editing experience
  • InDesign, Illustrator and writing experience a plus

Compensation

$12/hr @ 20hrs/week
